The pictures below are from the last two weeks. I took some vacation time from March 12th through the 17th, we flew out to Vegas. It was sure nice to get away for a few days.
I've assembled the chassis as much as I can until the rearend housing comes in from the chrome shop. I wet sanded and buffed the trunk lid, rear fenders and hood underside. I taped off the underside of the hood, front fenders and running boards in preparation for painting the outside of these parts.
Because the customer wanted the top painted I sent it out to have it re-gel coated. Two more layers of fiberglass were laid over the outside and then gel coat was sprayed over it. Every time I have cut fiberglass apart and glued it back together the seam has shown through the paint. Hopefully having more glass and gel coat put over it will stop this from happening. Yes, the gel coat is ruff and a lot of sanding will have to be done on it along with a lot of priming and blocking before it's ready for paint.
