The body is painted and has been sanded and buffed with compound; which is the first stage of the buffing process. I am using Dupont's ChromaSystem on the car; ChromaSeal, ChromaBase and the G2-7779S ChromaClear.

I wet-blocked the quarters, rear panel, and rockers with 1000 grit color-sanding paper, then 1500, and buffed them with compound. 1000 grit may seem too coarse to some people but, since I sprayed 3 full wet coats of clear on the car, there's enough there to handle taking more off to ensure the surface is flatter, and the flatter the surface the better it's going to shine - which is the ultimate goal.

The G2-7779S buffed easily using 3M's 05974 compound and a 3M 05737 foam pad. The next step will be polishing it with 3M 06064 Machine Polish using a 05738 pad, and then the final step I will use 3M 06064 Ultrafine Machine Polish with a 05733 pad.
